Darlyn Baker, RN – Director of Health Care Services
A graduate from Akron City Hospital School of Nursing, Darlyn spent 30 years as a bedside nurse in Ohio, Korea, New Jersey and Mercy Hospital in Bakersfield. She obtained a Junior College teaching credential from UCLA and concurrently taught in Bakersfield College’s LVN program for nine years. She has been a guest speaker at two national conferences and is published in several nursing journals. In 2009 she was chosen as RN of the Year in Leadership by the Kern chapter of the Association of California Nurse Leaders.
Bryon Baker, BA – Program Administrator
Bryon returned to Bakersfield and the family business, Interim HealthCare, in 1996 after earning a Bachelor degree from Dartmouth College. Bryon was instrumental in setting the plan in motion, creating a framework, and carrying out our vision of a Pediatric Day Health Center. Bryon has been a tremendous asset to our client’s and employees as Administrator of Caring Corner.

Loretta Hicks RN, PNP/MSN- Director and Owner
Loretta graduating from CSU Sacramento in 1979 with a BS degree as a Registered Nurse (RN). She earned her Masters of Science (MSN) as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in 1993 from CSU Fresno. She obtained her Post Masters Family Nurse Practitioner in 1995, a School Nurse, Health Services Credential 1996, a Furnishing number for prescriptions in 1994 and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in 2007. She is a member of the National Provider Identifier (NPI) since 2006.

Doug Hicks – Administrator and Owner
Doug graduated from UC Davis in 1980 with a BS in Agricultural Economics. He & Loretta were married in 1978, and have three wonderful children. He was a Division Chief with the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, having also served as an Operations Chief, Air Operations Director and as a Deputy Incident Commander. In addition to helping manage the State’s largest emergency incidents as part of one of the Type I incident management teams, Doug has maintained a current Emergency Medical Technician Certificate since 1976. Retiring after twenty-eight years with CalFire, he is currently serving as the Battalion Chief for the Tulare County Fire Department.With a lengthy and impressive career serving those in need, Doug enjoys his position as Administrator of Loretta’s Little Miracles and providing the best care available to your special needs child. With the mentality that he will not only serving the child but providing respite and enrichment for the caring family of that child, Doug is ready to continue to serve those in need.
